At just three weeks old, this little lady is already getting ready to take her first flight, home.
Matilda arrived a month early here in Melbourne and her parents are taking her home to the Northern Territory this week.
Flying with newborns/babies is stressful for many parents, there is so much conflicting advice out there. Tips my clients have shared that work for them are:
- Board first to give you a chance to get settled before take off and to ensure your carry on luggage can be as handy as possible for you to access
- Request an aisle seat, especially on longer flights, so you can get up and walk to rock your newborn off to sleep if need be
- Feed on take-off/landing as the sucking action can help equalise their ears.
I’d love to hear any other tips you have found work well for first-time parents?
